This year again, we can have fun together at the biggest gastronomic event on Lake Balaton in winter in Fonyód between 09-11 February 2024.

In addition to the fantastic gastronomic programmes, there will also be life on stage. The performers will be back-to-back, so you can choose from a wide range of musical programmes. If you are spending your annual holiday at Lake Balaton at this time of year, don’t miss this event, where young and old alike will have a great time.
The festival will feature the best Hungarian handicrafts and demonstrations at the farmers’ market. Cheese specialities, mangalica products, Balaton wines, Békéscsaba’s homemade dry sausages and salami, special stuffing products, bacon and ham will be available for tasting and purchase. Baking, Transylvanian horn cakes, langalló, sweets and a variety of gastronomic delicacies await the visitors.
In recent years, the competition between the municipalities has been a great success among participants and visitors alike, and has been a highlight of the festival since its launch in 2015. The following year, the symbolic link between Fonyód and Badacsony with sausages was a great success. As an attention-grabbing performance, in 2018 the teams from the municipalities filled the Balaton with sausages, symbolising that Lake Balaton always connects us, in winter and summer.

In order to ensure the safe conduct of the Fonyód Sausage Festival, the Council of the Town of Fonyód has modified the traffic regulations in József Street and its surroundings from 08 February 2024 at 14:00 to 11 February 2024 at 24:00:
Closed to vehicular traffic:
– József street between Liszt Ferenc street and Kilátó street
– The section of Károlyi street between József street and Jókai street
– Balaton street between Jókai street and József street
– Residents may enter by car only from Fő utca to the entrance of the football field and Szabó Lőrinc utca, on presentation of an address card
– No stopping in Liszt Ferenc Street
– Persons entering Liszt Ferenc Street by car may turn into Szent István Street
– The designated parking lot for the festival is the Vigadó Square parking lot.
A limited number of teams, groups of friends and associations are invited to participate in the now traditional Saturday sausage stuffing competition, where they can compete for the best sausage award. As well as tasting, cheering and enjoying the culinary delights, visitors will of course be treated to a wide range of activities.
During the day, a spa bath in Chisinau, a walk along the frozen shore of Lake Balaton, and in the afternoon and evening, lots of fun, merriment, eating and drinking.
